WHITFIELD NAMED PRESIDENT OF THE MATERIALS AND METHODS STANDARDS ASSOCIATION

 

Anaheim, CA — January 20, 2011 - Parex USA, Inc. the parent company of leading building material brands; Parex, LaHabra , El Rey Stucco, Teifs, and Merkrete today announced Jim Whitfield FCSI, LEED AP has been elected as President of the Materials and Methods Standards Association (MMSA).

Whitfield, the Technical Services Manager at Parex USA focusing on the Merkrete brand, was elected to the position of President at the last MMSA membership meeting during the Total Solutions Plus Conference November 2010, in Naples, FL.

The MMSA functions to establish standards of quality and performance for materials and methods of installation for the ceramic tile and dimension stone industry. MMSA appointed committees develop ANSI and ASTM specifications for products that are in common usage. Qualified representatives of MMSA participate on committees of the Tile Council of North America (TCNA), the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) ASC A108 committee, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA).
